210,756. ChÔlon, A. R. R. A. de M. Feb. 1, 1923, [Convention date]. Bore - hole apparatus.-Plant for rotary deepboring comprises a main shaft 1 adapted to be connected by a clutch 15 to an aligned shaft 16 which drives the rotary table 18; the shaft 1 carries a drum 13 co-operating with lateral pulleys 14 and used, for example, in unscrewing drill rods, while a shaft 4, driven from the shaft 1 through bevel gearing 2, drives a, sludge mixer 12 through chain gearing 10, 11 and also drives the shaft 8 of a, haulage drum 9 through change-speed chain gearing 5a, 6a. The drum 9 is provided with brakes 9a. The shaft 1 may be driven from an internal-combustion engine or electric motor 19 through hydraulic transmission mechanism adapted for use as a brake; the motor 19 also, through reducing gearing 21 and change-speed gearing 23, 26, 25, 27, drives a crank shaft 28 which operates pumps for circulating sludge in the bore-hole.
