Abstract

209,530. Railing, A. H., and Angold, A. E. Nov. 2, 1922. Mounting.-An electric fan is simultaneously oscillated about a horizontal and a vertical axis by means of a single connecting member between the motor body and a fixed base. A crank arm G driven from the fan spindle is fitted with a pin H which is connected by a ball and socket joint H<1> with a frame J hinged at K<1> to a fixed base L of the fan so as to swing about a horizontal axis. The oscillation about the vertical axis is varied by bringing the joint H' nearer to the vertical axis. This adjustment mav be carried out by means of a number of holes in the frame J into which the ball H<1> fits or by varying the point K<1> at which the frame J is hinged. The tilting movement is adjusted by varying the length of the pin H which may be screw threaded and locked bv a nut. Both movements may be varied by adjusting the crank throw, the pin H being mounted on a plate secured by a screw to the crank arm G.
