Abstract
209,029. Etablissements Continsouza Soc. Anon. Dec. 26, 1922, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Kinematograph apparatus.-A shutter comprises two wings 1, 8, the wing 1 being secured to the shaft 4, and the wing 8 being secured to a collar 9 which is loose on the shaft 4 but attached thereto by a spring 11. A blade 10 is provided on the wing 8 so that the resistance of the air opposes the action of the spring 11 and causes relative movement of the wings when the shaft begins to rotate. The aperture between the wings increases with the speed of the shaft until at the maximum speed one wing lies behind the other and further relative movement is prevented by a stop 12. The spring 11 and the blade 10 may be adjustable, one or both the wings may rotate in a medium other than air, e.g. water, and the blade 10 may be replaced bv a number of blades forming a fan which in conjunction with a casing round the shutter and a suitable channel causes cool air to be discharged on to the film in the gate.
