Kinematograph apparatus.-A kinematographprojector shutter has wings which close the openings therein while the shutter is stationary, but which open under centrifugal action, to an extent depending upon the speed, when the shutter is in motion; the amount of light and heat passing to the film is thus regulated in accordance with its speed. As shown, the shutter comprises a truncated cone 5 having two openings 9, and is is mounted on a shaft 6. Within the cone are two pairs of wings 10, 11 mounted on plates 10<1>, 11<1>, which are rotatable about a screw 7. Two bent arms 14, 15 carrying weights 14', 15<1>, and connected by a spring 16, are pivoted at 13 to a plate 12 to which the cone 5 is attached. These arms carry pins 17, 18 projecting into slots 19, 19<1> in the plates 10<1>, 11<1> carrying the wings. When the shutter commences to rotate, the arms 14, 15 turn on their pivot and through the pins and slots rotate the wings so that they uncover the openings in the cone 5, the extent of the uncovering depending upon the speed of rotation.
