208,092. Veritys, Ltd., and Rogers, D. E. June 16, 1923. Mounting.-A fan is oscillated about two axes by means of a crank pin i<2> driven from the fan shaft and connected by a rod j and a link m to the stationary bracket f of the fan and to the frame e supported to oscillate on the bracket. The fan casing rocks freely on trunnions d supported in the arms of a bifurcated frame e arranged for part revolution upon a stationary bracket f. A worm g revolves with the fan shaft and rotates a worm-wheel and' a plate i with the crank pin i', which can be clamped in any position along a radial slot. The connecting rod j is jointed to the pin i<2> and to a peg l<2> on a plate l attached to the bracket f. The link m is jointed to the rod j near the crank pin and is jointed at its other end to a peg n on the base of the bifurcated frame e. A friction clutch allows the fan to rotate if the oscillation is stopped. A ball o in a slot in the crank plate i is held towards the shaft by an adjustable spring q<2>; when operative, it enters a depression o<3> in the enlarged part of the shaft, and, when inoperative, it is forced out and the shaft revolves against the ball pressure. The crank plate i is driven from the worm gear through a hand-adjusted member r.
