Abstract

208,083. Jost, E. May 4, 1923. Heating by electricity.-In a liquid-heater having a spiral housing 1 fitted with a resistance 2, the housing is provided with hollow top and bottom covers 3, 4, and a centrally disposed tube 7 having inlet and outlet openings 5, 10, such that the liquid entering at 5 passes into the hollow top cover 3 and thence into the outer part of the spiral housing 1 through which it flows to the discharge opening 10. The bottom cover 4 is filled with cork-cuttings and heat insulating material 8 is fitted above and below the resistance element.
