Abstract

208,022. K÷hler, W. C. Dec. 28, 1922. Piles : piling.-Hollow sheet piles of concrete or metal are made with outer tongues on one side extending substantially flush with the front and rear walls 4, and on the other side inner tongues 7 spaced from the front and rear walls to co-operate with the outer tongues 6 of the adjacent pile. The tongues are preferably arranged so as to leave an enclosed space 8 between adjacent piles which may be used to lower a water pipe for flushing out the soil to assist in driving the piles, and which may be afterwards filled with clay or other material.
