Abstract

In an indicating device including indicating elements (1) such as for display of frequency in a receiver, a driver circuit (2,3) operates the indicating elements, a control circuit (8) is interposed between a group of keys (7) for present operation and a gate circuit (4) for controlling the driver circuit, and the control circuit (8) produces output signals, in response to input signals supplied from the group of keys, to the gate circuit for lighting on and off the indicating elements. When the preset operation by a user is over the control circuit (8) ceases to produce output signal (P1) and output from pulse producing circuit (6) is at a normal level H. and this returns the indicating element 1 to its normal condition continuously indicating the received frequency. <IMAGE>

Description

SPECIFICATION Indicating device of a preset possibility mode The present invention relates to an indicating device of a preset possibility mode in a radio receiver of a digitally indicating type.
In a radio receiver of a digitally indicating type, a lamp for indicating a preset possibility mode has been provided in a front pannel portion of the radio receiver to thereby notify a user if he may preset or not. However, when the front panel portion is provided with many lamps for indicating various operational modes, there has been a probiem that a user is liable to confusion in reading these operational modes. Incidentally, in such a radio receiver, it has been necessary to keep a space large enough to accommodate the lamps for various operational modes.
In accordance with the present invention, in order to remove disadvantages in such a conventional radio receiver as mentioned above, there is provided an indicating device which comprises: an indicating means; an operating means for operating said indicating means to indicate received cycle frequency and the like; a preset means; a control means for lighting on and off said indicating means when said indicating means is in its indicating condition in response to a signal supplied from said preset means.
The accompanying drawing is a block diagram of an embodiment according to the present invention.
The present invention is now hereunder described in detail, referring to the drawing.
In the drawing, the reference numeral 1 designates a plurality of well-known segment digital indicating elements for digitally indicating received cycle frequency, 2 a segment driver circuit for the indicating elements 1,3 a digit driver circuit for the indicating elements 1,4 a gate circuit having an and-gate circuit 5 and a pulse producing circuit 6,7 a preset circuit having a diode matrix and a group of preset operational keys, and 8 a control circuit, respectively.
With this arrangement, the control circuit 8 normally produces a segment output signal, synchronizing it with a digit signal D, after converting a signal which is produced in response to the received cycle frequency received by a receiver, not shown, to a signal for BCD/7 segment, for example, to thereby renderthe indicating elements 1 indicate the received cycle frequency by way ofthe segment driver circuit 2 and the digit driver circuit 3.
The above structure being well-known, it does not have a direct concern with the specific feature of the present invention, and therefore, its detail is not described herewith.
On the above occasion, an output signal produced by the pulse producing circuit 6 is kept at a level H (High).
On the other hand, the control circuit 8 applys an output signal 0 to the preset circuit 7, and accord ingly, upon confirming that a key possible to be pre set among the group of keys of the preset circuit 7 has been pushed with an input signal I produced by the preset circuit 7, the control circuit 8 produces an output signal P, and applys it to the pulse producing circuit 6. Thus, the pulse producing circuit 6 produces an output signal P2 having a predetermined width. The output signal P2 with a predetermined width is applied to a corresponding indicating element 1 by way of the and-gate circuit Sand the digit driver circuit 3 to thereby light on and off the indicating element for indicating received cycle frequency, which element is in its indicating condition in response to the predetermined pulse width, thus to repeat on-off action of the indicating element.
When the preset operation by a user is over, the control circuit operates to cease the production of the output signal (P, j to thereby keep the output signal from the pulse producing circuit 6 at its normal level H as well as to return the indicating element 1 to its normal condition continuously indicating received cycle frequency.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is capable of indicating a user a preset possibility mode by lighting on and off an indicating element for indicating received cycle frequency, thus to save a lamp for indicating a preset possibility mode which has been provided in a front pannel of a conventional radio receiver, resulting in reduction of the production cost.
Further, even if the front pannel is provided with various operating lamps, the on-off action of the display element makes it surer for user to acknowledge the indication of the preset possibility mode, thus enabling to avoid such an inconvenience that a user falls in confusion upon acknowledgement operational modes as in a conventional device.
Accordingly, in case of utilizing a micro-computer, in which an and-gate circuit and a pulse producing circuit are not required, it is capable of obtaining a more simplified structure.
