Mounting.-An electric fan is alternately oscil. lated about the horizontal axis c, c<1> and the vertical axis by means of a crank d geared to the fan spindle and connected by a link d to a pin e on a fixed base, the friction about the vertical axis preventing motion about this axis until the motion about the horizontal axis is limited by stops h<3>, h<4> on the frame a. The link d<2> may be connected to a point h<2> on a lever h which is pivoted at one end h<1> to the fan body and' is slotted at the other end to engage with the pin e on the fixed base. The crank throw or the position of the pin e may be adjusted to vary the oscillations about the vertical axis. The position of the stops h<3>, h<4> may be adjusted to vary the oscillations about the horizontal axis.
