Abstract

Post files; attaching files to covers; fastenings. -In a letter file of the bow type, the bows are oscillatably mounted on a plate hinged to the base plate carrying the file pins so as to fold over in a direction normal to the direction in which the papers are filed. The file comprises a base plate 4 carrying filing-pin and attached to the cover rm by cap screws 3. A back plate 9 hinged to the base 4 on trunnions 8 supports the bows 12 on trunnions 13, the movement of the bows being controlled by forming them with hooked ends 14 guided in quadrant-shaped slots 15. The back 9 is held upright by engagement of a flange 17 thereon with a spring 18. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, the plate carrying the bows 12 is fixed to the back of the file, and the pins 5 are rotatable on a hinged plate 21.
