Packing-materials; packing fraaile articles.- Relates to means for packing fragile articles such as glass lamp chimneys, drinking glasses, electric light bulbs, egg, &c. A sheet 5, Fig. 2, of fibrous material is formed with integral protuberances 6 adapted to engage the end portions only of the articles to be packed and a number of such sheets are assembled in a container with the protuberances extending towards each other so as to hold the articles in isolated positions in a non-cellular structure. Protuberances may be formed on each side of the sheet, as shown in Fig. 2, or protuberances 7, Figs. 3 and 4, with hollow walls may be formed. In Fig. 4, a lamp chimney 8 is held between a dome shaped central portion 9 and an annular groove 10 in the sheets 5. In a modification, Fig. 8, sheets are scored at 17 so as to facilitate erection into a box with sides 12, 13, a bottom 11, and a cover 14. Cup-like protuberances 15 are disposed in pairs to hold eggs &c. Glasses 23 may be packed as shown in Fig. 13, by pressing the edges into the outside surface of dome shaped projections 21 to form grooves 22.
