Mattresses.-In a spring mattress or bed bottom of the type having two series of flexible strands 8, 17, one series extending crosswise of the other, and retractile members or springs 11, 20 associated therewith, the overlying adjacent portions of the strands are freely directed through depending flanges 22 of discs 21. The springs may be interposed between adjacent discs, and the tension of the strands may be varied bv means of rollers 9, 14 held in adjusted position by pins 25.
