Abstract
206,723. Risberg, J. V. M. Dec. 6, 1922. Density separators; suspending and balancing. -A cream separator has a bottom part 1 and top 3 held together over a tightening ring 4 by a nut 5. The joint between the top and bottom is located approximately at the horizontal plane passing through the centre of gravity of the bowl, and the material near the joint is of considerable thickness to ensure that the moment of inertia with respect to the rotary axis is greater than that with respect to an axis through the centre of gravity at right angles to the rotary axis. The liner discs in the bowl have an angle of about 60‹. The driving spindle 8 has a rounded end on which the bowl is suspended so that the bowl can adjust itself during rotation. A cross-pin 11 in the bottom part 1 rests in a slot 12 in the spindle 8.
