Feeding-appliances for animals.-A dry-meal feeding-trough comprises a container having a perforated bottom, a trough below the container, agitating-appliances above the perforated bottom, and arms depending into the trough adapted to be moved by a pig, to actuate the agitating- appliances and cause the meal to fall through the perforations. The circular container a is supported above the trough j<1> by brackets j. The size of the apertures in the bottom c is regulated by means of an adjustable perforated plate e. A pin m passes through the base h, a coned distributor or guide k, and stays f, g. On the pin m are placed distance pieces n, 7 and collars o provided with stops p to limit the rotary movement of the pin. Above the cone k is a slotted and castellated collar t provided with arms u carrying blocks v for the pigs to push against. connected with the collar t to a disc 2 provided with spokes 3 and a run 4 on which rests a conical shield 5 supporting a cone 6.
