Abstract

171,929. Taylor, J. R. Feb. 1, 1921. Feeding-appliances for animals. - A device for automatically distributing grain to poultry comprises a container A having a hole B in its base. The hole is covered by a loose cup-shaped member D to which is rigidly attached a rod C passing loosely through the hole. At the lower end of the rod C is fixed a disc E of wood or metal round the periphery of which are holes in which grains of corn are tightly held. As the birds peck at the disc E, the cup D is tilted and the grain that passes under it is moved towards the hole B bv the oscillation and lateral movement of the cup.
