Feeding-appliances for animals.-A dry-mash food hopper for poultry comprises a food receptacle C covered by a hinged or removable grid B and containing a plate D adapted to rest on the food and provided with a number of comparatively small holes d through which the fowls reach the food. The plate D may have downwardly projecting ridges d<1> by means of which the surface of the food may be levelled on the plate being moved backwards and forwards. A closing lid A is provided for the hopper, and also a shelf E, on which the birds may stand while feeding. This shelf is preferably hinged and supported by a hinged bracket e.
