332,454. Wilkinson, R. A. Sept. 14, 1929. Feeding-appliances for poultry.-A dry food hopper A for poultry is provided at its base with an inclined metal plate B extending beyond the hopper and terminating in a trough b covered by a hinged lid C. Perches d<2> for the fowls when feeding extend between bars D pivoted at the ends of the trough. Links E extend from the bars D to the lid C so that when a fowl perches on the bars d<2> the rocking of the bars D about their pivots causes the lid to be raised. The bars D are extended below the plate B and are provided with a cross-bar carrying a block or blocks d<3> adapted to strike the lower side of the plate B when fowls spring on to the perch and so to cause the dry food to move down into the trough.
