Abstract

205,742. Henley's Telegraph Works Co., Ltd., W. T., and Judge, E. E. Dec. 21, 1922. Distribution boards and panels.-The terminals with which the disconnecting links v engage are each constituted by a flat strip of copper n passing through an insulating block e and being bent below it to constitute either a bus-bar p in one with a similar terminal or a sockets s for the reception of a conductor. The arrangement is such that the bus-bars may be disposed symmetrically one within the other. The insulating blocks e have recesses in their upper surfaces and upon dividing walls between these recesses rest split pins q passed through the terminals, further split pins being used beneath the blocks if desired. The insulators have grooves g in their sides by which they are retained between pairs of clamping rods d passing through transverse iron strips a bent to form feet c which are screwed to the base of any suitable box. Fig. 6 shows a strip of copper n bent to form a terminal and conductor socket, and Fig. 4 shows the terminal end w of a bus-bar in operative relation with a conductor-receiving terminal and disconnecting link v. The link v is formed by a longitudinally bent strip of copper slotted at 16 through the bent portion and clamping bolts x, with nuts and spring washers, are assembled in each end, the terminals being gapped to admit the shank of each bolt. The heads of the bolt x are received in correspondingly shaped apertures in the offset ends of a strip 12 fixed on one side of the link v. Tapped holes 14 receive the screwed stem of a handle 15 when required.
