Abstract

205,669. Rogers, F. H., (Republic Flow Meters Co.). Oct. 9, 1922. Flow meters, pressure-actuated, of the differential pressure type are provided with means for correcting for variations in the density of the fluid measured. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the differential pressure acts on a floating bell 7 carrying conducting liquid 9 co-operating with .wires 15 depending from resistances 14 in circuit with an ammeter 19 and the current coil 20 of a recording wattmeter 21. The static pressure also acts on mercurv in a U-tube 23 and causes the other end of the column to move in a central aperture of conducting and insulating discs 27, 30, the conducting discs being connected to resistances 35 in circuit with the coil 42 of the wattmeter. In a modification, the U-tube is replaced by a chamber with a diaphragm. 47, Fig. 2.. Specifications 183,201 and 205,670 are referred to.
