Abstract

A member having a hook at one end and a clevis hitch at the other may be reversed in its mounting on a tractor so as to provide alternative hitch configurations.

Description

SPECIFICATION The JA pick-up/clevis hitch (for Ursus and Zetor 8011 tractors) (The following instructions are only applicable where a pick-up hitch is already fitted to a tractor. Should this not be the case an installation kit can be suppiied to enable fitment of hitch to tractor).
The JA pick-up/clevis hitch is a complete modification of the existing hitch fitted to Ursus and Zetor 8011 tractors. The hitch when fitted to a tractor should not normally have to be removed as it contains clevis and hook drawbar. With the hook in use it is easy to change to the clevis hitch positions (1 or 2) by lowering hitch, remove two pins 5/," diameter, one pin 7/," diameter which can be later used as a tow pin if desired. Removing another which is located to stop ring hitch trailers from unhitching from the tractor at all times, the drawbar can now be removed from the main frame by turning hitch around and turning on its side, depending which height is required. It can now be replaced into main frame and a large pin 1*" diameter, which was earlier removed, can be located into frame and hook to prevent drawbar being pulled out and the two 5/," pins replaced into appropriate holes to prevent hitch going from side to side. The tow pin which was earlier removed can be replaced into its original position or as said before, used as a tow pin.
The main advantage with this hitch is all pins are refitted and are available at all times for interchanging of drawbar, even in the field.
This operation of turning the hitch around for different jobs takes no longer than 1 5 minutes whereas the original hitch takes approximately 1-1 > hours to change.
To remove existing pick-up hitch: 1. Remove lock pins and pin A.
2. Remove pins B and lower hitch F.
3. Remove lock pin and pin C and then remove hitch F.
4. Remove bolts D, (4 off), and remove mounting block E.
5. Remove bolts and nuts G, (2 off), and remove bracket H.
6. Remove bolts and nuts 1, (2 off), and bracket J.
To remove clevis hitch: 1. Remove lock pin and pin C from bracket E and remove FF from rear of tractor.
2. Remove bolts and nuts AA, (4 off), and remove bracket K.
3. Remove shoulder pins and nuts L, (2 off), if fitted further under Tractor.
Fitting JA hitch (hook position): 1. Fit mounting block A and bolt to tractor with bolts B, (4 off).
2. Slide main frame C under tractor, lift front end and fit pin D and lynch pin.
3. Fit link arms to pins E and fit lock pins.
4. Slide F into frame C and then fit pin G, and fit lynch pin.
5. Fit bracket H to tractor below PTO shaft and fix with bolts and nuts I.
6. Fit pins K into C 2 and 3 and fit R clips.
7. Fit pin J into bracket H and fit R clip.
Pick-up hitch with hydraulic arms and hitch is now ready for use.
Fitting JA clevis hitch: 1. Lower hydraulic arms to lower hitch.
2. Remove R clips and then pin K.
3. Remove R clips then pin G and then slide hitch F from main frame C.
4. Turn hitch F around and on its side.
5. Slide F into main frame C.
6. Remove R clips from pin J, then remove pin J from bracket H and fit into main frame C to locate into F hook end, and fit R clips.
7. Fit pin K into frame C 1 and 2 and fit R clip.
8. Pin G can be refitted into original position or used as a tow pin.
Clevis hitch is now ready for use. F can be fitted into either position 1 or 2 depending on height required, as shown in the inset picture.
1. The JA Pick-up/Clevis hitch is a complete modification of the existing hitch fitted to Ursus and Zetor 8011 tractors.
2. With the removal of one master pin from the hook and three auxiliary pins from the main frame, the hook is reversed and repositioned into the main frame. The master pin from the hook now becomes the tow pin for ancilliary equipment. A master pin (previously an auxiliary pin on the hook) and two auxiliary pins are located in their respective new positions. Therefore by a simple manoeuvre the hook (pick-up) hitch has been converted to a clevis hitch.
3. This operation of reversing the hitch for different jobs takes no longer than fifteen minutes whereas the original hitch takes approximately 1-1 hours to change.

Fitting JA clevis hitch:
1. Lower hydraulic arms to lower hitch.
2. Remove R clips and then pin K.
3. This operation of reversing the hitch for different jobs takes no longer than fifteen minutes whereas the original hitch takes approximately 1-1 hours to change.
