Description

SPECIFICATION Novel package container This invention relates to a novel package container, particularly to a pack of cigarettes.

Conventionally, the pack of cigarettes contains the cigarettes only. The smoker must find match or lighter to light the cigarette. The separate provided match-box or lighter is frequently lost, this make the smoker unconvenient and sometimes embarassed.

The main object of the present invention is to provide a novel package container to be used as a pack of cigarettes carrying both the cigarettes and necessary matches in self-contented manner.

Another objects is to provide a novel package container to be used as a pack of confections and the like carrying both the confections and necessary picks.

Other objects and features of the present invention will be apparent from the following description with reference to be accompanying drawings, in which: Figure 1 is a perspective view, with partly broken away, depicting the package container of an embodiment according to the present invention; Figure 2 is a plan view of the package material for the embodiment shown in Fig. 1, in extended condition; Figure 3 is a perspective view of another embodiment; and Figure 4 is a perspective view of further embodiment.

The illustrated embodiments are referred to the packs of cigarettes, the following description will be thus directed to the same, but it should be noted that this is only for illustrative purpose but not limited to the pack of cigarettes.

Referring to Fig. 1, the package container, such as pack of cigarettes, according to the present invention is generally in the form of rectangular configuration and mainly comprises a primary compartment 1 and a secondary compartment 2. A partition 3 is provided between said primary and secondary compartments 1 and 2 to separate the same.

The primary compartment 1 has an inner space enough to receive twenty cigarettes 4 as usual pack of cigarettes. Also as usual said primary compartment 1, at upper end, inclines from front wall 11 toward back wall which is unitary connected with a lid 5 to cover thereon, and a separate salient 1 2 with a cutout 1 3 is fixedly attached inside of said compartment 1.

The novel characteristic of the present pack of cigarettes is that a secondary compartment 2 is formed at under part of said primary compartment 1 to become an unitary combination. The secondary compartment 2 is in the form of a passage to receive a drawer 6 from either sides. The drawer 6 is adapted to contain a plurality of matches 7 preferably sufficiently used for lighting twenty cigarettes that received within the primary compartment 1.

At lower portion of the front wall 11 of this package is further provided with a striking surface 8 for the matches. The striking surface 8 may be formed by either directly printing thereon or gluing with a strip treated with a conventional striking formulation. The striking surface 8 may be provided on higher level of said front wall 11, or/and back or/and side walls, or even at bottom of said drawer 6, as desired.

This package can be formed by folding one piece of preformed cardboard as shown in Fig. 2 and the like in conventional manner.

But with the pattern of Fig. 2, the package as shown in Fig. 1 can be formed, except the parts of said salient 1 2 and drawer 6 which are separate provided.

Fig. 3 illustrates another embodiment according to the present invention which also comprises a primary compartment 1 to receive the cigarettes 4 and a secondary compartment to receive the drawer 6. But the primary compartment 1 has flat upper end 14 instead of inclined type shown in Fig. 1, and without the lid 5. This primary compartment 1 is suitable used for inserting therein a paper pack 9 of cigarettes available on the market.

On both front and back walls there are each one notch 1 5 at about upper center for convenient to insert the paper pack 9 into said primary compartment and to take out therefrom. Accordingly, in this embodiment a drawer 6 for containing the matches is also received within said secondary compartment and the striking surface 8 is also provided on desired portion.

Fig. 4 illustrates further embodiment according to the present invention in which the secondary compartment 2' is positioned at one side rather than at under part of the primary compartment 1 as the cases shown in Figs. 1 and 2. As illustrated, the primary and secondary compartments 1 and 2' are separately formed, then glued together. Of course, said compartments 1 and 2 may be unitary formed as preceding embodiments shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and the primary and secondary compartments 1 and 2 in preceding embodiments also can be separately formed as in this embodiment. In this embodiment, the secondary compartment 2' must be closed at lower end to prevent the drawer 6 therein from falling. This compartment 2' may be optionally provided with a lid 1 0. The striking surface 8' is provided vertically, but also available in horizontal.

With these packs of cigarettes, the match needed for lighting the cigarette when one is going to smoke is self-provided along with the package, it is very convenient for the smoker who does not necessary to find any match or lighter from somewhere.

Further, the novel package container of this invention is not restricted being used as the pack of cigarettes, it can be also used, for example, as the pack of confections and the like. In the latter case, the confections are received in the primary compartment 1 and the picks (not shown) used for picking up the confections to eat are contained inside the drawer 6, and the striking surface 8 is naturally not necessary.

Claims

1. A package container comprising a primary compartment to receive the packed contents and a secondary compartment to receive a drawer for containing the necessary tools for enjoying said packed contents.

2. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the primary and secondary compartments are unitary formed by folding one piece of the preformed package material.

3. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the primary and secondary compartments are separately formed, then fixedly attached together.

4. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the primary compartment is provided with a lid.

5. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the secondary compartment is formed at under part of said primary co-m- partment.

6. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the secondary compartment is formed at one side of said primary compartment.

7. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the packed contents are cigarettes and the tools are matches.

8. A package container as claimed in claim 1, wherein the packed contents are confections and the tools are picks.

9. A package container as claimed in claim 7, wherein a striking surface is provided at any suitable portion.
