Sockets. - A device for locking two screwjoined parts of a rock or like drill comprises a cylindrical block arranged in a cavity in one of the parts and feathered to the other part so as to prevent rotary displacement, the block being divided transversely into two parts provided with intermeshing t e e t h which allow the upper part to be turned in one direction only into a position :n which it can be locked to the surrounding drill-part. The screw-joint of the two parts A, B of a drill is looked by means of a feather 3 and a bolt C which passes through the upper part of the cylindrical block 2, the latter being rotated to enable the bolt to be inserted by means of a nail &c. introduced through a hole 14. A groove turned in a cavity 8 in the upper part of the locking device receives the ends of a blade spring 13 which engages with a cavity 18 in the bolt. The latter is also secured by a split-pin d.
