Abstract

203,951. Tintometer, Ltd., and Lovibond (nÚe Baker), F. E. Nov. 7,1922. Colorimeters.-Comprises a construction of cell for containing a liquid, the colour of which is to be tested, whereby the dividing line between the specimen and the colour screens is comparatively inconspicuous. The cell consists of a pair of thin sheet-metal plates b, preferably white, arranged parallel to one another, and a pair of thin colourless glass plates g constituting the front and back walls of the cell. The lower edges of the metal plates b are fixed in grooves c in the base plate d and the glass plates are joined liquid-tight to the side plates and held against the base plates by clamping plates h as shown, of L-section. The holder s for the cell and colour screens is a rectangular frame of sheet metal having undercut flanges to retain the holder in position before theaperture p, the cell being inserted from the back of the holder. A series of glass colour screens are introduced through slots q in one side of the holder s to contact with the cell containing the specimen under test.
