235,458. British Drug Houses, Ltd., and Ellis, H. A. Nov. 12, 1924. Colours, comparing.-The colour of liquids is compared by refleded and transmitted light with the colour of one or more standard liquids, all the liquids being contained in capillary tubes. A group or a series of groups c of two or more capillary tubes containing coloured solutions are mounted on a sheet of white card a provided with an opening b through which transmitted light may pass. The liquid to be tested is placed in a group of tubes similar to those containing the standard liquid, and the group is placed in one or other of the spaces g, whereby both transmitted and reflected light may be used for comparison. The method is stated to be specially applicable for determining the degree of acidity by the use of indicators.
