Abstract

A cash monitoring device for use with fruit machines and other cash and token operated machines comprises a cash collector arranged to collect cash used in the operation of the machine, a cash sensor (14) arranged to detect the passage of cash to the cash collector and to issue a cash-received signal each time further cash is detested, a control unit connected to receive the cash-received signals from the sensor, and storage and display means controlled by the control unit and operable to store and to indicate the total value of cash detected by the sensor, following a previous collection of cash from the cash collector, so that an indicated value of cash can be compared with the actual value of cash each time a cash collection is made. The display means includes a pre-printed tape 20 bearing progressively increasing cash markings, or a blank tape onto which cash values are printed by a printer. <IMAGE>
