Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it easy to catch the maintenance time such as replacing parts, etc., in a paper processing device, for example, a printing machine by installing a means to detect the quantity of passing paper on the way of paper transfer and enabling the detected number of the passing sheets, to be displayed. CONSTITUTION:When the captioned unit is applied to the printing device, possessing such constitution in which large number of paper sheets P are stored in a paper cassette and a single paper sheet is taken out from the uppermost position, and supplied into the printing part through paper guide transport measure; a light emission element 12 and a light receiving element 13 are so arranged that they allow interposition of the above mentioned guide between them at the mid point of said transport guide. Then, the output signal of the light receiving element 13 is inputted to the detector 14, and the passing of the paper P is detected by the change of the signal from light receiving element 13 from ''0'' to ''1''. The output signal from the detector 14 is inputted to the counter 15A of the display means 15, the counted value of the signal is indicated on the display part 15B, so as to get it decided by operator if the maintenance time is on hand or not.
