Abstract

CONSTITUTION: The signals sent from character position shifting circuit part 30 possessing the cursor signal generating mechanism and the line number counter are sent to line counter 8 and remaining line control circuit 31 to calculate how many print line number is remaining at the position under editing to the using printing paper size to be then displayed on display unit 19 such as the CRT and the like. In this constitution, coincidence detecting circuit 38 plus line pitch alteration memory 39 consisting of line number memory part 39a and line pitch type memory part 39b are connected to counter 8, and the signal sent from counter 8 is supplied to line pitch indication control circuit 32. After this, the signal based on the alteration of the line pitch is applied to circuit part 31 from circuit 32 via line pitch memories 33W36 plus OR gate 37 with every alteration of the line pitch. Thus the information necessary for editing is obtained such as the length of the remaining paper, the number of the remaining lines and others.
