Abstract

A multi-layered energy sensitive construction, capable upon imagewise exposure of providing both positive and negative reproductions of an image by means of a delamination process, comprises a transparent top layer 18, an energy sensitive layer 16 which generates a gas on exposure a resinous layer 14 which may contain a colorant and may possess adhesive properties, an optional adhesive layer 12 and an optional support 10. On imagewise exposure to light or heat, gas is generated in the exposed areas of layer 16 thus allowing the two supports to be stripped apart to produce a positive image on support 18 and a negative image on support 10 (cf.Fig.3). Support 10 may be such that name plates, printed circuit boards, or silk screens can be produced on it. Alternatively colour proofs can be made. <IMAGE>
