Factory and like time-recorders, autographic; aligning and locking type-wheels; driving typewheels from clock. - Apparatus of the autograph type, in which a strip of paper is passed beneath an aperture in the casing, the aperture being normally closed by a shutter 47 held locked until a time-record has been printed and the paper moved so that the printed record coincides with the aperture the paper passing from a spool 9, under the record printing-wheels 7, and over a table 12 beneath the aperture to the spool 10, has a manually-operated rocking lever 20 pivotally connected to a plate 53 which operates the paperfeeding mechanism, to a cam-ber 21 which operates a hammer 11 to effect the printing of the time-record and the release of the shutter 47, and to a cam-bar 37 which operates a device for bring- ing the figures on the minute-wheel into the correct position for printing, the cam-bars coacting with fixed members on the casing to produce the desired motion. The plate 53 carries a lug 54 which moves a wheel 55 on the shaft of the paper carrying spool 10, a stop 56 on the arm 21 engaging the wheel 55 and limiting the movement. On the return stroke a pin 57 rides over a cam-plate 58 and lifts the plate 53 free of the wheel 55, a pin 61 positively moving the shutter 47 to the clcsed position. A pawl 59 prevents backward rotation of the wheel 55. A pin 41 on the cambar 37 engages a trip lever 33 resiliently pivoted to the arm 32 of a lever pivoted at 31 and carrying a finder 30, that engages between teeth 29 of a wheel on the spindle of the minute printing- wheel and brings the figures to the correct position, the minute printing-wheel being resiliently connected to the clock spindle. After the printing has taken place the cam-bar 37 is depressed by its cam 43 engaging a fixed pin 44, so that the pin 41 releases the trip lever 33. The cam-bar 21 engages, by means of a hook 25. a pin 23 on a lever carrying the hammer 11. The cam-surface 26, coacting with a fixed pin 27, lifts the cam-bar 21 and releases the hammer after it has been drawn back, so that under spring action it strikes the paper against the record printing-wheels, an inked ribbon being interposed. The pin 52 on the cam-bar 21 then engages a shoulder on the latch 50, pivoted at 44, and releases the shutter 47 which is opened by a spring, or positively by a pin on the plate 53.
