Abstract

For the purpose of avoiding stress concentrations when a tubular valve 5 of plastics film layers 11, 12 welded and/or heat-sealed to an otherwise closed plastics sack 1 is suspended from a filling machine, the valve diverges from a diameter in the sack interior substantially equal to the nipple diameter to a larger diameter at a position where the layers 11, 12 are connected to the sack walls by a side seam 6 of the sack. <IMAGE>
