Abstract

The ladder is suspended from the side of the driver's platform of a combine harvester by means of eyes 12 at the top. The upper part of the ladder formed by sides 4, 6 and treads 14, is completely rigid. The bottom tread 16 is suspended on flexible straps 20, 22 which allow the tread to deflect in the direction of its length if it hits the ground. The straps are so wide as to be substantially rigid with respect to deflection in the transverse direction. <IMAGE>
