Abstract
In a method for optimum regulation of an electrolytic polishing process in which an object to be polished is placed in a polishing bath and subjected to an anodic treatment under constant current density, the potential difference between the object as anode (3) and the surrounding polishing bath (2) is measured e.g. using a reference electrode 6 connected to a voltmeter 7. The polishing parameters are adjusted to obtain periodic oscillations in the potential difference measured. The polishing bath may comprise a mixture of phosphoric acid with (iso)amyl alcohol, water containing F ion e.g. NaF, Na2SO4, H2SO4, CuSO4 or NiSO4. <IMAGE>
