Abstract

Diazo compounds, which may or may not contain halogen, are coupled in substance or on the fibre with the 4-chlor- or the 4-brom-3-toluidide of 2 : 3-oxynaphthoic acid (CH3 : NH : Cl=1 : 3 : 4). The shades on the fibre, particularly those derived from halogenated diazo compounds, are very fast to kier-boiling. An example is given of the production in substance of the dyestuff from the 4-chlor-3-toluidide and diazotized 4-chlor-2-anisidine: examples are also given of padding baths containing the toluidides and of pastes for printing thereon containing diazo compounds from 4-chlor-3-toluidine, 4-brom-2-toluidine, 4- or 5-chlor-2-toluidine, 3-nitro-4-toluidine, and 5-nitro-2-aminoanisol. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6379/12 and 23732/13.ALSO:Diazo compounds are coupled on the fibre with the 4-chlor- or the 4-brom-3-toluidide of 2 : 3-oxynaphthoic acid (CH3 : NH : Cl=1 : 3 : 4); the shades obtained, particularly those derived from halogenated diazo compounds, are very fast to kierboiling. Examples are given of padding baths containing the toluidides and of pastes for printing thereon containing the diazo compounds from 4-chlor-3-toluidine, 4-brom-2-toluidine, 4- or 5-chlor-2-toluidine, 3-nitro-4-toluidine, and 5-nitro-2-aminoanisol. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 6379/12 and 23732/13, [both in Class 2 (iii), Dyes &c.].
