Abstract
Glass made by the float process is transported from the float furnace to a reheating furnace via a spray enclosure at which compounds capable of forming a metal oxide film on the glass are sprayed on to the glass surface. The surface temperature before spraying is adjusted by means of a flame which sweeps the glass surface after leaving the float furnace, allowing a consistent oxide coating to be obtained on glass bodies of different thicknesses. <IMAGE>
