Abstract
In a method of preserving freshly caught fish in the hold of a fishing vessel, the water which drains off the fish over a period is removed and gaseous carbon dioxide is injected into the hold so that it fills the interstitial spaces between the fish and displaces the air from the hold, the latter then being sealed until the fish are to be unloaded.
