Abstract

A gas turbine engine reheat fuel control system has metering valves 16, 17, 18 which control fuel flow from a pump 14 to respective reheat burners 11, 12, 13 on the engine 10. The flow areas of valves 16, 17, 18 are controlled by electrical signals on lines 48, 68, 69 from a circuit 20. The pump 14 has a throttle valve (not shown) comprised of an axially movable sleeve in the inlet duct which is moved in response to a signal on a line 31 from the circuit 20. The signal on line 31 is primarily responsive to the sum of the fuel flows through the valves 16, 17, 18 as determined by the flow areas of the valves and pressure differentials across them. The signal on line 31 is modified in accordance with the pressure differential across one of the valves, so that the fuel delivered by the pump is increased until this pressure differential corresponds to a calculated value based on the required reheat fuel flow. <IMAGE>
