Abstract

201,460. British Thomson Houston Co., Ltd., and Fitzgerald, A. S. Jan. 23, 1922. Addition to 188,001. Protective arrangements of the Merz-Price type employing current transformers in e a c h phase, that in the middle phase consisting of two separate parts the secondaries of which have half the output of those of the other two phases, the arrangement providing separate protection against faults between any phase and earth, as described in the parent Specification, employ two transformers in each of the three phases all of the transformers being of equal capacity. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, in addition to the two transformers 5, 5 in the middle phase, two transformers 4, 4, 6, 6 are used in the outer phases, the two transformers on the outer phases being connected in parallel and connected to the inner transformers and to the pilot wires as in the parent Specification. The same single unit system of transformers, as described, is employed for the circulating current system of the parent Specification.
