Abstract

A life boat 1 is suspended on davits 3 above a deck 2 of a ship or off-shore platform used for diving operations and having pressure chambers 8 and 9 in which divers may be housed. The boat 1 has a pressure vessel 4 which can be connected to the vessel 8 to allow removal of divers in case of emergency without having to await decompression. A removable pressure chamber 12 can also be connected to the chamber 4. <IMAGE>
