Abstract

A method for the manufacture of a bundle of tubes 3 held in spaced apart relationship by one or more pipe holders 2, in which the tubes of the bundle 3 are introduced through the apertures of an apertured member 1, a mould forming ring 7 is then placed around the bundle of tubes 3 and in contact with the member 1, whereby the member 1 forms the bottom of a cavity mould, and a moulding material 10 (i.e. metal or resin) is placed in the mould cavity so as to fill the space between and around the tubes 3, and when the moulding material 10 has hardened or set the member 1 is moved axially along the tubes 3 away from the holder 2 just formed to a second mould forming ring, whereupon a moulding material 10 is moulded. Any number of holders 2 can be formed using the same member 1. The ring 7 can either be left in position to form part of the holder 2 or removed so that only the moulding material 10 forms the holder 2. <IMAGE>
