Abstract
A flexible hose connection comprises a premoulded length of hose 10 having enlarged end portions 11. A pair of radially split, annular flanges 12 are slidably mounted on the hose 10. Each enlarged end portion 11 engages in a recess 18 formed in a surface 19 of a connecting part 16. A spigot 20 in a bore 17 in the part 16 projects into the hose 10 beyond the respective end portion 11. The flange 12 has a convexly curved aperture 13 therethrough, the minimum diameter of the aperture 13 being less than the diameter of the respective end portion 11. Screws 15 pass through holes 14 in the flange 12 and engage in screw threaded bores 21 in the part 16. Tightening of the screws 15 deforms the end portion inwardly and outwardly to produce an effective high pressure seal which is simple to make and undo. Damage to the hose is minimised. <IMAGE>
