Abstract

A generator 10 supplies loads 14, 18 e.g. with A.C. and D.C. respectively, the voltage across each load being measured and the generator field current controlled accordingly, so as to regulate the generator output voltage. If the voltages across the loads are within predetermined first and second ranges, the field current has a certain value, representative of the voltage across one of the loads, that is changed to a second value, representative of the voltage across the other load, if that voltage is not within its predetermined range. The field control may be over-ridden if a measured load current exceeds a threshold. <IMAGE>
