Abstract

An electrical connector for making a connection between a semi air-spaced coaxial cable and a flexible coaxial cable, for example at a junction between an air-spaced cable and a repeater housing or a terminal station, has two outer tubular conducting members 2, 3 each connected, by crimping or soldering, to an outer conductor of a respective cable, and an inner tubular conducting member 6 into which the cable inner conductors extend, and are secured by soldering. Located between the inner 6 and outer members 2, 3 of the connector is a dielectric plug 4, 5, with O-rings 14, 19 being positioned between the plug 4, 5 and the inner 6 and outer members 2, 3. A nut 7 is provided to secure the two outer members 2, 3 of the connector together: as the nut 7 is tightened, the O-rings 14, 19 are pressed into sealing engagement with the plug 4, 5 and conducting members and pneumatically seal the air-spaced cable. <IMAGE>
