Abstract

A component such as an opening roller for an open end spinning machine, a combing element for a half lap roller or a roller or segment for a textile carding machine or a similar textile combing or carding component wherein the operating surface of the component is coated with a surface layer having a low co-efficient of friction or wherein the operating surface or the whole of the component is formed of a material having a low co-efficient of friction. The surface coating may be PTFE or the component may be made of a low friction plastics material.
