Abstract

A container 25, suitably for transporting fruit or vegetables, comprises a body 26, e.g. of cardboard, having a rectangular bottom panel 1a and a pair of opposed side panels 1b, 1c, and rigid end frames 33, e.g. of wood, at opposite ends of the container. Each side panel, and optionally the bottom panel, have a separate flat, e.g. 1d, 1f, 1h, integrally joined to them at each end of the container, which flaps are folded to define, with the end frames, the end walls of the container. At least one of the flaps, e.g. 1d, at each end of the container, embraces at least part of its associated end frame and is engaged with the sheet material to retain the end frame in position and the side panels in upwardly extending states. <IMAGE>
