Abstract

A spark erosion apparatus in which the tool 4 is movable towards and away from the workpiece 1 by an electro-hydraulic actuator 7 is controlled by a regulator 36 which compares the actual value 8 of the voltage at the spark gap with a preset desired value 9. The regulator has a characteristic of a multipoint regulator with at least four stages, formed for example from a proportional and limiting operational amplifier 18a in parallel with a three-point operational amplifier 18b. <IMAGE>
