Abstract

Graduated circles 15, 14 of a goniometer which are used for reading horizontal and vertical angles are arranged on closely spaced facing planes of transparent discs 6, 7 and are read through the discs by a single optical system 9, 10, 11 and illuminated by a single light source 8. One of the discs is rotated by a right- angle drive cord arrangement 3. This results in a compact arrangement while preserving a high degree of reading accuracy. <IMAGE>
