Abstract

A communications receiver is provided with an integrated IF module (4) having a limiting amplifier (5), a quadrature demodulator (6) and a gain control (7) operable by application of a direct voltage (U2). By selectively coupling a direct voltage (U1) to the contact (12) for a capacitor (25) providing the feedback path of the limiting amplifier (5), the latter can be blocked, thus converting the quadrature demodulator (6) into a balanced audio-frequency amplifier. At the same time, input contacts (15, 16) of the demodulator (6) are changed over from a phase shifter (28) to an audio frequency source (44), such as a tape recorder, record player or microphone amplifier. <IMAGE>
