Abstract
A building cladding panel 1 incorporating a closed channel or pipe 6 with an inlet end and an outlet end through which liquid flows in use, the liquid being in heat exchanging relationship with the panel so that the panel can serve as a solar heating panel. Preferably, the panel comprises a ductile metal tray-shaped member 2 having a recessed bottom 3 that incorporates said channel and which is at least partially wrapped around the pipe and a rim 5 by which the panel is supported in use. The panel is further adapted to be inclined in use so that it has an upper end and lower end, the bottom of the tray being inclined relative to the plane of the rim so that its depth decreases towards the lower end. The rim at the lower end may be formed with a flange 13 to overlap the upper end of an adjacent panel so as to form a weatherproof seal, and the side rims may be formed with upstanding flanges 9, 10 whereby adjacent panels are connected together using a jointing strip 14. The panel may be provided with a cover 8 that transmits solar radiation, the cover being held in engagement with the rim by said jointing strips. <IMAGE>
