Abstract

To simplify the production of a rotor for turbomachinery requiring blades which are markedly curved at their point of attachment to the rotor hub, the desired curvature is achieved by subjecting the rotor to a torsional couple whereby the blade roots are caused to adopt the desired curvature. In the simplest case the rotor is firstly performed with substantially straight blades and the internal profile of the rotor hub appropriately shaped to ensure the desired relative displacement. Twisting of the whole length of the rotor may be followed by annealing, and then twisting of a part of the rotor. <IMAGE>
