Abstract

Operating doors by treadles and by lever mechanism and springs.-The arrangement described in Specification 10004/11, in which theinterconnected leaves 11, 12 of the mine door arranged diagonally across the track are opened in opposite directions, is modified as regards the position and attachment of the closing spring and the mounting of the depressible rails operable by a car to open the door through link connections. The spring for closing the door is attached to a post 15 and to a bracket arm 17 on the leaf 11, the member 17 having an enlarged head 19 with holes to provide for an adjustable attachment. The tension of the spring may also be adjusted by a turnbuckle 22. The leaves are interconnected by a link 14 and arms 13. For opening the door, depressible rails 33, 32 at the side of the mine track operate rocking shafts 29 mounted on brackets 26, links 49, 46 connecting the shafts 29 with the leaf 12. A link 46a attached to the arm 17 is operable by depressible rail members on the other side of the door. The outermost sections of the depressible rail is a member 33, which is supported by a plate 42 integral with a post 40 loosely seated in the socket 39 of a flanged plate 38 secured to the mine track. The members 42 have each a V-shaped rib, which serves to allow the free end of the rail 33 to be rocked by an on-coming car and open the door through the rail members 32 and link connection. The free ends of the members 33 are adjustably raised by spacers 43. A weighted lever 50 assists the spring 23 in closing the door members.
